Ashland Sentinel Passive Multipoint Door Lock with 2.38" backset. 60/92 Passive door lock with no latch or deadbolt. Commonly used on Jeld-Wen doors and others.
This is the passive lock designed for use in a double door system with no astragal between panels. This is the center section of the Sentinel Swing Multipoint XP25 2 point passive lock with shootbolts. The Passive gear box does NOT have a slot for a tailpiece, just a round hole. The Passive side of the door handle trim does NOT have a thumbturn. When the deadbolt from active door goes into the receptacle on passive lock, it prevents the handles from moving.

-Mortise type (no astragal)
-Has deadbolt communication with the active panel lock. When shoot bolts are extended and the active deadbolt is fully extended, the passive lock shoot bolts cannot be retracted. This prevents the homeowner from opening the passive panel with active deadbolt extended, which might damage the panel. Prevents active lock deadbolt from extending unless the passive shoot bolts are extended. Tells the homeowner to lock the passive panel first.
-Has latch communication with the active panel lock. If the active deadbolt has not been engaged, when passive lock shoot bolts are extended and the active lock latch is fully extended, the passive lock shoot bolts cannot be retracted. This prevents the homeowner from opening the passive panel first, which might damage the panel. Blocks active lock latch from full engagement into passive lock unless the passive shoot bolts are extended. Prevents damage to panels should passive panel be opened first and tells the homeowner to lock the passive panel first.
